WoW Anti Troll measure: Real ID on forums

In Funny, Gaming, MMO, RPG on July 9, 2010 at 6:19 pm

Hello folks. It’s been a while since I made a blog post, but this came up and it seemed like as good a reason as any to start procrastinating on my applied maths research through blogging.

Some of you may have heard of Blizzard’s plan with the battle.net update merger to implement a Real ID system for both in-game identification (across main characters and alts) as well as the forum.

Dimitiri aka Comrade Leon-Stalin Junior has a few strong opinions about that Blizzard move…

I’d say that’s a checkmate right there.

Sorry to put a stopper on Dimitri’s newfound joy, but as it turns out Blizzard has decided to scrap Real IDs on forums after all.

The gist: the Real ID system will remain a purely in-game option. Emphasis on in-game option. As for the the forums, they will continue as before so flame away to your heart’s content.

Now I need to go find that level 1 alt of mine: it’s a Horde troll called Foruum.
